MMC Group’s Operating Companies in Southern Region participated in the inaugural Iskandar Puteri Night Marathon 2017 as part of its continuous commitment and support to the State of Johor in promoting Iskandar Puteri as a new metropolitan green city.
The event was officiated by Datuk Zulkurnain Hj. Kamisan, Johor State Executive Council for Sports, Youth, Culture and Heritage accompanied by Mohd Ghadaffie Abd Aziz, Director of Johor Sports Council, Adib Azharie Daud, Council Head of Johor Bahru Tengah Municipal Council (MPJBT) and Mohd Shukri Masbah, Director of Johor Tourism. Also present at the event were Derick Basir, Chief Executive Officer of Senai Airport Terminal Services, Muhammad Abdullah Hatta, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Edwin Gerard Louis Rosary, Head of Operations Johor Port Berhad, Kennedy Ayu, General Manager of Operations Senai Airport Terminal Services and Yarlida Yahya, Head of Projects, Senai Airport City.
Held at Iskandar Puteri Johor, the run was flagged off at Dataran Mahkota Kota Iskandar and saw more than 7,000 runners charge through various iconic destinations around Medini, Iskandar Puteri area including the newly-built EduCity, Johor’s sports hub, Legoland Malaysia and many more.
MMC Group was represented by 40 runners from Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Johor Port Berhad, Senai Airport Terminal Services and Senai Airport City.
Iskandar Puteri Night Marathon 2017 is an international marathon sports event aimed to deliver a race of a lifetime for all athletes and to promote Iskandar Puteri and the State of Johor in the international arena. The marathon consists of 4 different race categories for men and women. Top 10 winners of each category were rewarded with a medal and prize money.
