Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), Johor Port Berhad (JPB) and Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff), members of MMC Group attended the 4th Iskandar Malaysia Social Hero Awards (IMSHA) in conjunction with Iskandar Malaysia’s 10th anniversary celebration  at Grand Paragon Hotel, Johor.


The official launching ceremony was officiated by Datuk Ismail Ibrahim, Chief Executive of Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA). During the ceremony, nine individuals, 10 non-government organisations and two companies were awarded for their outstanding contributions to the community.

 

IMSHA is a collaborative effort between The Iskandarian – Iskandar Malaysia’s official Newspaper and IRDA social development division under the patronage of Tun Musa Hitam that was formulated in 2014 to identify, recognise and celebrate individuals, organisations and groups who are making a difference in societies. The awards were also intended to raise awareness on the need for all to share the responsibility of working towards a more conclusive, compassionate and effective society.


More than 500 nominations were presented since its inclusion in 2014 with categories  namely Arts, Culture and Heritage Preservation, Animal and Wildlife, Disaster Relief, Education Advancement, Environmental Preservation, Health Services, Human Empowerment, Poverty and Hunger Relief, Public Safety, Corporate Social Responsibility Award, Social Innovators, and Active Duty and Veteran Services.

The 4th Iskandar Malaysia Social  Hero Awards
