Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd (SATSSB) a Member of MMC Group and its airline partner, AirAsia Berhad (AirAsia) successfully launched the Fast Airport Clearance Experience System (FACES) at Senai International Airport, making it the first airport in Malaysia to pilot the biometric identification system.

FACES, fully owned and operated by AirAsia, uses facial recognition technology to identify enrolled guests as they approach the automated boarding gate, allowing them to board their flights without having to present any travel documents. The entire process of boarding 180 passengers will take between 9 to 11 minutes instead of 11 to 13 minutes without the system.

The initiative will further enhance the passenger’s travelling experience and airport operations efficiency with faster security and screening processes, specifically to accommodate the growing number of passengers travelling through Senai International Airport.
