MMC Corporation Berhad (MMC) organised a special educational visit to the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia (IAMM) Kuala Lumpur for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

More than 40 students from Tahfiz Al Aziz, Semenyih, Selangor were taken for a two-hour tour to explore the rich culture of Islamic history at IAMM. The programme started with a brief introduction of IAMM by the museum’s curator before proceeding with a tour to various sections within the museum.

The museum, one of the largest Islamic museums in Southeast Asia, houses more than 8,000 artefacts from all over the world. Among the items on display were the oldest forms of Quranic calligraphy, manuscripts, armours, architecture and building models, drawings, ceramics, glassware, coins, metalworks, textiles and jewelleries throughout the centuries.

Apart from the tour, MMC volunteers together with the museum’s curators organised a “Journey To Find Artefact” activity for the students to create a fun learning experience as they uncover the story behind the artefacts. The programme ended with the distribution of  lunch pack by our volunteers and brought home fond memories of their first experience at the museum.

The educational visit was part of MMC’s ongoing initiative to support the underprivileged students by providing opportunities to broaden their learning experience in a different educational environment.
