Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group organised a visit to Bait Al-Mawaddah, an old folks home in Kampung Jalan Kebun, Shah Alam, Selangor in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

Bait Al-Mawaddah, which houses 41 senior citizens, was built by Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) in 2014. The old folks home is one of the LZS’s initiatives to help elderly people under Asnaf Fakir Miskin in Selangor who live alone or from less fortunate families.

During the programme, Northport contributed financial assistance to the residents under its zakat redistribution programme. Breaking of fast, Maghrib, Isya’ and Tarawih prayers with the residents were also held together with Northport’s employees during the session.

The visit to Bait Al-Mawaddah was part of Northport’s corporate social responsibility initiatives to fulfil its commitment as a responsible corporate citizen especially during Malaysia’s major festivals.
