Johor Port Berhad (JPB), a member of MMC Group had its community programme called Gema Ramadan, organised in conjunction with the month of Ramadan to benefit the community of Pasir Gudang especially the less fortunate.

There were two components under this programme which were JPB ‘Bubur Lambuk’ Distribution and Jalinan Immarah Ramadan. The ‘Bubur Lambuk’ distribution was conducted in collaboration with three local mosques namely Masjid Al-Ittihad, Masjid Kg Cahaya Baru and Masjid Kg Pasir Gudang Baru. Throughout Ramadan, more than 3,000 packs of bubur lambuk were distributed to the local communities.

Under the Jalinan Immarah Ramadan initiative, JPB aimed to embrace the spirit of giving and spread the joy of Aidilfitri with the less fortunate children from Asrama Ar-Rayyan. The effort was done in collaboration with Lembaga Pelabuhan Johor (LPJ). A total of 77 children, assisted by 30 volunteers from JPB and LPJ, spent a day out shopping at Jakel Bandar Baru Uda to prepare for Hari Raya. Each recipient received a full Hari Raya ensemble worth RM150. Souvenirs and ‘duit raya’ were also given to the children during the outing which ended with a joyous feast for the breaking of fast session.

Over the years JPB is actively involved in various CSR programmes within the sphere of education, community development, as well as philanthropic efforts to the local and neighbouring communities. Through these programmes, JPB has managed to instil the spirit of volunteerism and togetherness among its employees.
