PTP Welcomes Evergreen 20,388
TEUs Ultra Large Container Ship Ever Golden
Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a Member of MMC Group, organised a maiden voyage event for Evergreen Ever Golden calling at its port in Gelang Patah, Johor. The vessel, owned by Evergreen Marine Corp was on its journey from Hong Kong, China to PTP, Malaysia.
The maiden voyage of Evergreen Ever Golden to PTP was commemorated at a special event and attended by representatives from both PTP and Evergreen. PTP was represented by Joe Schofield, Chief Operations Officer of PTP and several other PTP management members.
Evergreen Ever Golden features a length of 400 meters, a width of 58.8 meters and with a draught of 16.0 meters (max Summer draft). With containership capacity of 20,388 TEUs, the vessel belongs to the Ultra Large Container Ship (ULCS) category and also features state of the art eco-friendly, high-efficiency systems and modern technology.
It was officially launched on 30 March 2018 at Qingdao Port, China, the vessel now joins Ocean Alliance’s NEU3 Asia-Europe. The vessel is one of 11 units 20,388 TEUs ULCS ordered from Japanese shipyard Imabari Group in October 2015.
The berthing of Evergreen Ever Golden is yet another testimonial in confidence towards the capability of PTP to handle the biggest container vessels in the world.
