MMC Ports Participates in 16th Asean

Exhibition in Johor

Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), Johor Port Berhad (JPB), Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport) and Penang Port Sdn Bhd (PPSB), members of MMC Port Holdings Sdn Bhd (MMC Ports) participated in the 16th ASEAN Ports and Shipping Conference and Exhibition, held at Renaissance Hotel, Johor Bahru.


Hosted by Johor Port Authority (JPA), the event was one of the biggest annual Maritime Ports, Shipping and Transport Logistics Exhibition and Conference in the ASEAN region where it provided an opportunity for Maritime industry executives, government officials and technical specialists to get together and discuss on current maritime issues and future development in the region.

 

The official opening ceremony was launched by En Mohd Khairul Adib Abdul Rahman, Deputy Secretary General, Ministry of Transport. Also present during the event were YBhg Dato' Abdul Rahim Ramli, Chairman of JPA, Mr Ian James, Group Chief Executive Officer of MMC Ports, Mr Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PTP, En Shahrull Allam Shah Abdul Halim, CEO of JPB, Dato' Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, CEO of Northport and several senior management team members from the respective subsidiaries companies.


During the event, Mr Ian James was featured as one of the conference speakers and discussed a topic titled “The role of MMC Ports in ASEAN region”. Apart from that, Mr Marco Neelsen was also invited to present his topic titled “Industry Revolution Maritime Perspective – Investments & Technology”.


A technical site visit to PTP and JPB involving more than 80 delegates from 10 countries was also conducted to provide first-hand insight on the latest commercial and operational developments taking place in both ports.


The participation of subsidiary companies in ports and logistics of MMC Group at 16th ASEAN Ports and Shipping Conference & Exhibition was part of the Group’s continuous effort to increase brand awareness of MMC Ports and as an on-going Group stakeholders’ engagement initiative to strengthen relationship between the Group and its relevant business partners including the customers and government entities.
