Back To School With Penang Port

Penang Port Sdn Bhd (Penang Port), a member of MMC Group, organised the ‘Back To School’ programme as part of the company’s CSR initiatives. This programme was held on 22 November 2018 and involved 40 underprivileged students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Bagan Tuan Kechil, Butterworth.

The contribution consisting school uniforms and stationeries was aimed at helping lessen the burden of parents as they prepare their children for the new academic year as well as to bring cheer to the students by providing them with brand new school kits as they start return to school.

“This is a great initiative to encourage the children to stay in school as sometimes, we get reports that children are absent on the first few days of school as parents can’t provide them with the necessary school supplies”, said En Muhamad Sukri Abdul Karim, Headmaster of Sekolah Kebangsaan Bagan Tuan Kechil, Butterworth.

The Back to School programme reinforces Penang Port’s corporate social investment efforts via education-related community outreach programmes. Penang Port hopes that the contributions and good times shared at the event have uplifted their spirit and passion to give their best in school.
