Members of MMC Group in the southern region displayed exemplary team work by working together in a joint Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative dubbed as the MMC Smart Circle Programme. The collaborative CSR project was held on 21 November 2018 and comprised the full involvement from Johor Port, Port of Tanjung Pelepas, Senai International Airport and Senai Airport City.
Organised for the second time, the MMC Smart Circle Programme continued in 2018 to assist in the development of students and schools in Johor by providing learning materials and upgrading school libraries. The programme was also aimed at enhancing academic growth and inculcating good reading habits among the students.
A total of RM65,000 of zakat fund was contributed to 13 selected primary schools in Kulai, Johor Bahru and Pasir Gudang. The handover ceremony took place at the Senai Business Aviation Terminal, where each of the schools received a total of RM5,000 contribution in form of library reference books and learning equipment such as printers and projectors.
The auspicious ceremony witnessed the school principals receiving the contributions that were handed over by Muhammad Abdullah Hatta, Chief Financial Officer of Port of Tanjung Pelepas; Noor Safura Suib, Chief Operating Officer of Senai International Airport; and Che Mustapa Che Ismail, official from Kulai District Education Office. Also in attendance were representatives from MMC Group of companies, officials from Johor Education Office, teachers and students.
At the end of the programme, the students were taken on an educational visit around Senai International Airport where they were briefed on luggage system, check-in system and passenger safety system.
