Dear Personnel of MMC Group of Companies,

On 30 November and 1 December 2018, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, successfully organised the inaugural PTP 2018 Career Insight Programme with University Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) students from various maritime studies such as the Maritime Management Studies, Nautical Science and Maritime Technology Applied Science.

PTP 2018 Career Insight Programme is one of many partnerships CSR and Human Capital programmes between PTP and UMT aims at providing students with an understanding about PTP operations and careers opportunity that the students could potentially have whilst working in the port industry.

Throughout the two days programme, 40 participating students were trained and exposed to the different complex job dynamics and job requirement such as the Marine Services, Operations, and Health, Safety and Environment. At the end of the programme, the students were required to do a presentation based on their attachment experience, observation and recommendation. The programme concluded with a closing ceremony attended by Mr Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP, together with En Muhammad Abdullah Hatta, Chief Financial Officer of PTP presenting prizes to the participating students wining the Best Group Awards.

The collaboration through CSR-based educational programme provides a good platform for young undergraduates to acquire additional knowledge and understanding on matters involving their respective studies as well as giving them an exposure on the port business operations and the required competencies to work in a port industry.

Apart from the PTP 2018 Career Insight Programme, other CSR-based educational programmes in the pipeline include Career Talk, Structured Internship Program (SIP) and the 3U1I (3 years university and 1 year Industry) programme that will commence in early 2019 involving seven undergraduates from UMT.
