MMMC Pembentungan Langat Hosts

Mini Seminar and Educational Visit

for UNIKL-MICET Students

MMC Pembetungan Langat Sdn Bhd, a member of MMC Group, organised a mini seminar and educational visit involving 33 engineering students and four lecturers from the University Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Chemical & Bio-engineering Technology (UniKL-MICET).

The programme was aimed at exposing the engineering students to modern technological innovation in sewage treatment process, introduced by the government through the Langat Centralised Treatment Plan (CSTP).

Ir. Moghan Muniandy from SHMB Sdn Bhd, Langat CSTP consultant, gave a presentation to the students covering topics on Langat CSTP Overview, Treatment Process System Design, Civil and Structural Engineering Design and Green Technology Elements.

After the seminar, the students and lecturers were taken to the site office rooftop to see the progress of the CSTP project. During the tour, students were briefed by the operation team on the details of the construction work and the progress of the project. The programme ended with a visit to the Public Information Centre. The students gained greater understanding of the CSTP facilites and piping network through the project model available at the centre.

The visit proved to be another successful programme as the students were not only walking away with new knowledge, but also have better awareness on the importance of environmental conservation efforts.
