Driving Terminal Tractors

Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, has successfully signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Terberg Tractors Malaysia (TTM) to develop a comprehensive study on the viability of deploying autonomous driving terminal tractors to transfer containers within the terminal.

The agreement was inked between Marco Neelsen, PTP Chief Executive Officer and Boo Wei Ching, a member of the Board of Directors TTM and witnessed by YB Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport together with Dato’ Sri Che Khalib Bin Mohamad Noh, Chairman of PTP/Group Managing Director of MMC Corporation Berhad and George Terberg, Chairman of The Royal Terberg Group.

The MoU Signing Ceremony were also attended by Mohd Solihan Bin Badri, Chairman of Johor State Public Works, Infrastructure and Transportation Committee, YB Sr. Dzulkefly Bin Ahmad, ADUN Kota Iskandar/Chairman of Johor State Housing, Communication and Multimedia Committee, Christoph Prommersberger, representative from the Kingdom of the Netherlands Embassy in Malaysia and Rosnan Fathlal, Chairman of Johor Port Authority.

This effort is in line with PTP’s aspiration to become an advanced preferred port in the region by remaining competitive in establishing its terminal as one of the best equipped and most technologically advanced - a port that operates and offers smart solutions that will help to optimise operations, promote efficiency and reduce logistics costs in a safe environment.
