Johor Port Receives Working Visit From YB Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau, Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah

Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, received an inaugural official working visit from YB Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau, Deputy Chief Minister of Sabah who is also the Minister of Trade and Industry, Sabah State Government.


Together present during the visit were YBhg. Datuk Madiyen Layapan, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Trade and Industry Sabah State Government; Stephen Sampil, Director Department of Industrial Development and Research Sabah; Suhaimi Untong, Group Deputy General Manager (Planning and Development), Sabah Economic Development Corporation and Sabah’s industry players such as Datuk Dr. Pang Teck Wai, Chief Executive Officer of POIC Sabah Sdn. Bhd; Ir. Melvin Disimon, Chief Executive Officer of KKIP Sdn. Bhd; Ng Kiat Min, Group Managing Director of Suria Capital Holdings Berhad and Siti Noraishah Azizan, General Manager of Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd.  

 

Upon arrival, YB Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred and the delegation were brought to a joint-briefing session by Johor Port Authority and Johor Port. Shahrull Allam Shah Abdul Halim, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port elaborated on the Port’s milestone, operational performance, its strong intra-Asia connectivity and ongoing development of Johor Port as Malaysia’s Premier Southern Gateway Multi-Purpose Port.


The minister and the delegation were then taken for a tour around Johor Port to see the services and facilities within the Multi-Purpose Port; the Container Terminal, the Liquid Terminal which houses the world’s largest Edible Oil Terminal and the Warehousing Facilities at its Free Zone area which is directly managed by Johor Port being the appointed Free Zone Authority.


This visit concluded with a commitment by Johor Port and Sabah Ministry of Trade and Industry to explore opportunities for both parties to work together in the future.
