PTP Shares Joy With Residents of Rumah Seri Kenangan in Johor Bahru

Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group visited Rumah Seri Kenangan, an old folks home in Johor Bahru as part of the company’s continuous Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme with the community.   

A total of 22 PTP employees from various divisions volunteered in spreading joy to the residents of the old folks home where they engaged in several activities such as distributing food and drinks at the dining hall and assisting the residents and hostel guardians to tidy up the rooms. They also took the opportunity cheering up the residents by spending some time talking and getting to know them.

With more than 300 residents from different ethnic groups, religious and backgrounds, this volunteer outreach programme at Rumah Seri Kenangan is a continuation of the engagement session by PTP that was first held in May in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan where the volunteers spent their time to break-fast and distribute bubur lambuk to the residents. Some volunteers also spared their time with the residents on the morning of Aidilfitri to distribute kuih and duit raya for them. Earlier this month, PTP  donated a unit of water dispenser as part of their initiatives to improve the facility’s surroundings.   

PTP’s CSR programme aims at building a meaningful and long-lasting relationship with the company’s stakeholders whilst offering its employees the opportunity to be involved in humanitarian activities and give something back to the community.e operate. The Group’s CSR on environment is also aligned with the Penang State Government’s aim at promoting a cleaner and greener state.
