Reach Out to Orang Asli Community

of Kampung Bakar Batu

Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd (Senai International Airport) and Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), members of MMC Group have successfully organised a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Community Day Programme with the Orang Asli community of Kampung Bakar Batu, Sungai Danga, Johor Bahru.

Initiated by Senai International Airport and PTP under the MMC Leadership Programme, this event has attracted more than 50 volunteers from both organisations. All volunteers worked hand in hand together with the villagers in a communal work by cleaning up, painting and fixing the village’s community hall. Upon completion, the community hall was officially handed over to Surip Abdullah, Village Head of Kampung Bakar Batu and witnessed by Yazid Beram, Officer from Jabatan Kemajuan Orang Asli Johor.

The day continued with various fun-filled activities such as port career talk, football clinic, football friendly match, kids coloring contest, tele-match games and distribution of Jalur Gemilang to the community in the spirit of the Merdeka celebration.   

The CSR effort demonstrates MMC Group of companies’ role as a responsible corporate organisation towards the local community by continuously reaching out and giving back while nurturing the spirit of charity and goodwill among the employees.
