Decathlon Sets Up Regional Distribution Centre in Port of Tanjung Pelepas Free Trade Zone

Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) a member of MMC Group, officially welcomed and witnessed the inauguration ceremony of Decathlon Regional Distribution Centre for South East Asia (SEA) region held at Decathlon Logistics Malaysia facility in District Park B, PTP Free Zone area.

The event was officiated by Yves Claude, Chief Executive Officer of Decathlon; Nils Swolkien, Managing Director of Decathlon Singapore and Jorge Reyes Sanchez, Director of Decathlon Logistics Malaysia Sdn Bhd. Also present were Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP and Prakash Thurairasasingam, Head of Commercial of PTP.

Decathlon is the largest French sporting goods retailer with over 1,500 stores in 49 countries throughout the world.  The opening of Decathlon Regional Distribution Centre for SEA marks a significant milestone for PTP in 2019. It will further strengthen PTP’s Free Zone area as the preferred distribution hub in the region and potentially pave the way for more established world-renowned companies to invest and set up their distribution hub in PTP.

Prior to this, PTP had also successfully secured various global brands such as Karcher, Volkswagen, Coles, Target, Steinhoff, Cotton On and H&M as among the world’s famous brands to set up their regional distribution hub in PTP.
