PTP and Lembaga Pelabuhan Johor

Bring Festive Cheer to 240 Underprivileged Families

Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) a member of MMC Group, together with Lembaga Pelabuhan Johor (LPJ) continued to embrace the spirit of giving in Ramadan and to bring joy of Hari Raya Aidilfitri to the less fortunate by organising its annual PTP–LPJ Tijarah Ramadan programme with the local communities.

More than 240 underprivileged families comprising the needy, single parents as well as low-income families from all across Johor received food aid packages and cash vouchers in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

This CSR-based event was organised as part of collaboration efforts by both organisations in supporting and improving the living standard of the local communities. This programme has been part of the organisations’ annual CSR agenda since 2011.

The distribution of the aid was made during a handover ceremony by YB Mohd Solihan Badri, Johor state Public Works, Infrastructure and Transportation Committee Chairman; during a special iftar event with more than 300 guests consisting members of the local communities. The event which was held in Port of Tanjung Pelepas was also attended by Marco Neelsen, PTP Chief Executive Officer; Tuan Haji Rosnan Fathlal, Chairman of LPJ; Muhammad Razif Ahmad, LPJ General Manager; as well as several senior management team members from both PTP and LPJ.

Over the years PTP has actively been involved in various CSR programmes within the sphere of education, sports, community development and environment. Our philanthropic efforts to the local and neighbouring community not only aim at bridging the urban-rural social mobility but most importantly fostering sustainable relationship and celebrate the spirit of togetherness amongst PTP staff and the surrounding community.
