Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, organised its annual engagement session with the Government’s enforcement agencies namely the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Royal Malaysia Police, Royal Malaysian Customs Department, Malaysian Quarantine & Inspection Services and Port Klang Authority. This programme was initiated by MMC Port Holdings Sdn Bhd (MMC Ports) and Northport with the aim to continuously combat and eradicate any form of corruption within the organisation.

The session started with the introduction on MMC Ports by Datuk Ian James, Group Chief Executive Officer of MMC Ports followed by a sharing session by Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, Chief Executive Officer of Northport on the preventive and corrective measures taken by Northport in handling the integrity related cases within the company.

Prior to this, MMC Corporation Berhad has sealed the Group’s commitment to conduct business ethically and in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations at a pledging and signing ceremony witnessed by the Chief Commissioner of MACC. The pledge continued at the operating company level, where TeamNorthport has also signed a Corruption-Free Pledge.

This effort is aimed at reminding all parties including the management, employees, customers and other stakeholders to stay clear from any kind of corruption and bribery in conducting business activities. This is also to promote good governance, transparency and respect for the rule of law, while at the same time, create a positive image to the organisation.
