Dear Personnel of MMC Group of Companies,

On 9 April 2020, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas  Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, together with Johor Port Authority (JPA) distributed basic necessities to the Gelang Patah community who were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic as part of the organisations’ continuous corporate social responsibility programme involving the community.

Many of the poverty-stricken and low-income families were severely affected due to the Movement Control Order as they are not able to go out and work to earn their daily income.  In a view of this, a total of 150 families from Kampung Pok, Kampung Ladang, Kampung Tanjung Adang, Kampung Pekajang and Kampung Tiram Duku in Mukim Tanjung Kupang were identified to receive necessities care packs by PTP and JPA.

Each pack consists of 20 items such as rice, sugar, flour, sweetened creamer, sardine and others. During the distribution, all precautionary measures was strictly followed to ensure the safety of all parties involved.

Earlier, PTP together with Johor Port Berhad, Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd and Senai Airport City Sdn Bhd also joined hands by contributing medical appliances and other supplies to the Covid-19 designated treatment hospitals in Johor.

PTP’s community outreach programme such as providing aid to the Gelang Patah community, aims at building a meaningful relationship with the company’s stakeholders whilst offering its employees the opportunity to give something back to the community.
