Senai International Airport Undergoes Full-Scale Disinfection to Prevent The Spread Of Covid-19

Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd (Senai International Airport), a member of MMC Group, carried out a full-scale disinfection and cleaning operations to protect the airport users from the spread of Covid-19. The activities were conducted with the cooperation from Johor State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba).


The operations took almost two hours involving 50 firemen focusing the public area including the Aeromall, departure and arrival halls, baggage pickup area, security screening hall, escalators, pick-up and drop-off zone, and the cargo terminal warehouse. Together present to monitor the process were Dato' Yahaya Madis, Director of Bomba Johor, accompanied by S. Gunasegeran, Head of Aviation Safety and Security of Senai International Airport.


Senai International Airport is taking the pandemic of Covid-19 seriously and continuously working closely with relevant parties to ensure the health and safety of the passengers and employees. The disinfection exercise was carried out on top of regular sanitation conducted by the airport daily.


Among other initiatives carried out during the outbreak are close collaboration with the Department of Health to ensure health screening for passengers arriving from overseas, frontline employees are equipped with personal protective equipment, enforcement of body temperature checks at the airport entrances for all passengers and employees as well as implementing measures to encourage social distancing at the queueing lines, passenger seats, elevators and others.
