Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, has further enhanced its terminal operations capacity when it welcomed an additional 10 Rubber Tyred Gantry Cranes as part of the company’s ongoing capacity expansion programme in 2020.

The 10 units of ZPMC’s Full Electrical Twin Lift Rubber Tyred Gantry (E-RTG) Cranes were acquired back in April 2019 and will now complement the existing fleet of 163 RTG’s currently in use in PTP.  While the E-RTGs were delivered during the third phase of the Movement Control Order (MCO) period, PTP has taken all the necessary precautionary measures to adhere to the guidelines set by local authorities and relevant ministries.

These E-RTGs are battery powered with zero greenhouse emissions and a higher energy efficiency, which demonstrates PTP’s continued efforts towards a sustainable environment.

The purchased of these 10 E-RTGs is part of PTP’s Asset Management Strategy to improve the efficiency on the terminal, with increased container handling capacity, reliability, and meeting its safety standards.
