Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group in collaboration with Johor Port Authority (JPA), successfully organised “School Disinfection Programme” from 13 to 15 July 2020 as part of a joint CSR programme for the Gelang Patah community.


With the aim at providing a clean and sanitised school environment for the returning students, PTP and JPA distributed disinfectant items such as hand sanitiser, disinfectant liquid, spray and thermometer to 17 primary and secondary schools within the Gelang Patah area. During the distribution, PTP’s Health, Safety and Environment personnel conducted a knowledge sharing sessions on COVID-19 preventive measures that can be implemented by the schools to ensure the safety of their students and teachers.


Aside to providing disinfectant items, volunteers from PTP, JPA together with teachers and parents organised a gotong-royong at Sekolah Kebangsaan Morni Pok, Gelang Patah. During the gotong-royong, common areas such as library, meeting room, surau and classroom were thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.


Throughout the pandemic, PTP has pro-actively organised other CSR programmes with the Gelang Patah community, such as providing self-hygienic supplies to old folks’ home, distributing iftar food to frontliners and contributing medical appliances to the COVID-19 designated hospitals in its efforts to ease the burden of underprivileged groups and help to combat the fight against COVID-19.
