Penang Port Colaborates With Majlis Agama Islam Pulau Pinang For the Declaration Event to Organise Friday Prayers at Surau Terapung NBCT (North Butterworth Container Terminal)

Penang Port Sdn Bhd (Penang Port), a member of MMC Group hosted the declaration event to organise Friday prayers at Surau Terapung NBCT.

The event embarked a new history for Penang Port as Surau Terapung NBCT was granted by Majlis Agama Islam Negeri P.Pinang to host weekly Friday prayers. The official announcement was made by YB Dato' Ir. Hj. Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman, Deputy Chief Minister 1 of Penang witnessed by His Excellency Tun Dato’ Seri Utama (Dr.) Haji Abdul Rahman Haji Abbas, Penang State Governor. Penang Port was represented by Datuk Syed Mohamad Syed Murtaza (Chairman of PPSB), Sasedharan Vasudevan (CEO of PPSB), Radhi Mohamad (COO of PPSB), Datuk Tan Teik Cheng (Chairman of Penang Port Commission) and PPSB employees in the auspicious ceremony.

The declaration event was meaningful as finally the Surau Terapung NBCT can host the temporary Friday prayers and it will lift the burden on Penang Port staffs as the current nearby mosque has reach its capacity to cater large crowd during Friday prayers.

Hopefully the declaration event to organise Friday prayers at Surau Terapung NBCT can benefit all Penang Port staffs and the nearby communities to perform the Friday prayers.
