Penang Port Sdn Bhd (Penang Port), a member of MMC Group, continued its corporate social responsibility programme by providing necessities to the Seberang Perai Prison in Jawi. The necessities include items such as rice, cooking oil, hand sanitiser and body wash.

The Seberang Perai Prison and its quarters is one of the red zones in Penang affected by the COVID-19. Due to this situation, most of the employees stationed at the prison could not go out from the area as the Government has implemented the Enhanced Movement Control Order from 22 October 2020 until 4 November 2020.

Penang Port, as one of the catalysts of economic growth in the Northern region recognises the importance of helping the ones affected by the pandemic. “Let’s do our part in every little way that we can to support the Government in battling COVID-19 in the country,” said Sasedharan Vasudevan, Chief Executive Officer of Penang Port.
