MAIN EDITOR'S NOTE IN BUSINESS CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY ENGAGEMENTS HIGHLIGHTS

On 8 March 2016, Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) in collaboration with Johor Port Authority (JPA) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) held a site visit to the sea grass habitation located at Tanjung Adang, Gelang Patah, Johor. The site visit was organised in an effort to oversee the current condition of the sea grass meadow and its habitat for an understudy project of PTP, JPA and UPM’s future environmental Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

Grounded by UPM’s latest finding that the sea grass population at Tanjung Adang area has shown growth in 2015 as compared to the past years, the CSR-based collaboration aims to instil environmental awareness and to appreciate the importance of the sea grass habitat while giving exposure on the mitigation plan for future PTP Terminal Development. The event was attended by En Muhammad Abdullah Hatta, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PTP, En Muhammad Razif Ahmad, General Manager of JPA, together with Dr Mutta Harah Zakaria and Professor Japar Sidik Bujang from Universiti Putra Malaysia.

PTP recognises the importance of preserving the natural environment for future generations. Through its continuous environment-based CSR initiatives, PTP remains steadfast in safeguarding the natural beauty surrounding its Port as well as its neighbouring community.
