On 11 April 2016, Syarikat Borneo Highway PDP Sdn Bhd (BHP) together with the Federal Government and the State Government of Sabah signed a Project Delivery Partner agreement to manage and implement the construction of 706km Pan Borneo Sabah Highway Project.
Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak together with Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Chief Minister of Sabah, YB Datuk Seri Musa Aman, Minister of Works, YB Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia, Tan Sri Dr. Ali Hamsa were present to witness the signing ceremony at the Prime Minister’s office.
The first package of the 706km involving an 11.7km stretch from Papar to Donggongon will begin at the end of April 2016.
BHP will act as the single point of accountability responsible for managing and supervising the first phase’s development for the project at reasonable cost and to be completed fully before 31 December 2021.
