PTP Organises Safety Day 2016

In Conjunction with Global Safety Day

On 28 April 2016, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a Member of MMC Group held its annual Safety Day to promote safe, healthy and decent work environment. The event was organised in conjunction with Global Safety Day, celebrated around the world as endorsed by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the United Nations (UN).  

The event was attended and launched by YBhg Dato’ Sri Che Khalib Mohammad Noh, Chairman of PTP. Also present were Mr Ian James, Group Chief Executive Officer of MMC Ports, En Muhammad Abdullah Hatta, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of PTP, Mr Henrik L. Pedersen, Regional Chief Financial Officer of APMT, Mr Jan Damgaard Sorensen, Head of South East Asia & Chief Financial Officer of Asia Pacific APMT and Board Member of PTP along with other PTP Senior Management team.

Various fun and interesting activities were organised throughout the event such as free health check, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) exhibition, Hazard Hunt Competition, Safety Talk and many more.

With “Safe for you, Safe for me” as the theme for this year, the event symbolises PTP’s continuous effort and commitment towards building a safety culture besides signifying its goal to become the safest port in the world.
