JPLogistics All Set to Embark on Gas Malaysia & GMIEV Compressed Natural Gas Project with Brand New Prime Movers

On 20 May 2016, Johor Port Berhad’s subsidiary, JP Logistics Sdn Bhd (JPLogistics) received 4 units of brand new prime movers from Volvo Malaysia Sdn Bhd at Port Safety Bay, Johor Port following the agreement concluded between JP Logistics Sdn Bhd, Gas Malaysia Berhad (Gas Malaysia) and IEV Energy Sdn Bhd (GMIEV).


The three (3) years contract saw JPLogistics as the first and the only logistics company in Malaysia appointed to manage the transportation and distribution of mobile 'Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)’ throughout Malaysia.


With the appointment of JPLogistics as the official transporter for GMIEV, customers nationwide will benefit from unlimited carriage access to the main and urban areas in addition to serving the demands with a more effective labour cost.


The 3-way collaboration project is expected to expand the CNG market and contribute new revenue streams to all parties.


Among those present at the ceremony was En Md Zulnorrain Md Yassin, Chief Operating Officer of JPLogistics and Mr Jerome N.Y. Wong, Vice President of Volvo Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
