Siemens Malaysia, PETRONAS & MMCES Celebrate the Arrival of The First

Gas Turbine for PCPP Project

Siemens Malaysia, PETRONAS and MMC Engineering Services Sdn Bhd (MMCES) celebrated the arrival of the first gas turbine for Pengerang Cogeneration Power Plant (PCPP) project.


The arrival of the gas turbine on 7 June 2016 was received by Mr Liew Yuen Choon, Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS Power Sdn Bhd, Ir Dr Colin Wong Hee Huing, Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation Sdn Bhd, Mr Prakash Chandran, President and Chief Executive Officer of SIEMENS Malaysia, Mr Markus Speith, Project Manager of SIEMENS AG, Ir Chee Weng Loon, Director of MMC Corporation Berhad Engineering & Construction Division and En Mohamed Khairuddin Abdul Rahim, General Manager Oil & Gas of MMCES in an official ceremony.


The first Siemens SGT5-8000H gas turbine arrived at Tanjung Setapa Material Offloading Facility (MOLF) near the project site in Pengerang, Johor after a four-week trip from Hamburg, Germany. It is the most powerful gas turbine in commercial operation today.
