MMC PLSB Engagement Programme with Public on Langat Sewerage Project
MMC Pembetungan Langat Sdn Bhd (MMC PLSB), a Member of MMC Group held its latest town hall session for the public on 12 June 2016 at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Batu 9 Cheras.
Town hall sessions with public and residents are one of the main activities led by MMC PLSB Corporate Communications and Operations team in order to ensure the public and residents residing along its sewer piping network are well informed about the project.
From January to June 2016, MMC PLSB has successfully conducted a total of 23 town halls, serving 66 residential areas in Kajang and Cheras. The event is an important platform for MMC PLSB as the main contractor for the Langat Sewerage Project to disseminate information about the government’s aspiration to upgrade the national sewerage system and minimising ammonia pollution into the Langat River.
Public are provided with the opportunity to have a dialogue session with representatives from Jabatan Perkhidmatan Pembetungan, Majlis Perbandaran Kajang, Hulu Langat District Office, ADUN and local councillors. Among the questionnaires and feedback received from the public are project’s implementation method, safety, security, traffic management and complaint management. Analysis from the participant’s feedback showed that most of the public supports the project and gave constructive suggestions to minimise the potential disturbance in their area.
