Dear Colleagues,
The third quarter of 2016 has swiftly passed us by, and it is once again a time for due reflection on our activities and progress. The achievements and special occasions that we have shared in the MMC family are something we can all be grateful for as it has culminated in a shared sense of belonging for all of us towards MMC Group. The creation of this sense of belonging is the ultimate goal of The Hub.
As MMC Group and its Operating Companies continue to make significant progress in the projects that we are currently involved in, we have not lost sight on the importance of giving back to the community and taking care of our own people. Numerous corporate responsibility initiatives as well as employee engagements were conducted this quarter, which are all documented in this latest edition of The Hub.
In this issue’s ‘Highlights’ section, we offer you a special feature on MMC Games 2016. This biannual sports event, held on 19 and 20 August 2016, was truly an astounding showcase of talent, hard work, camaraderie and sportsmanship. Congratulations to PTP who emerged as the overall champion of MMC Games 2016!
Do also check out our feature on Mr Ian James, the CEO of MMC Ports, under the ‘Up Close & Personal’ section. We hope you will be inspired by the man behind the ports who constantly brings his vast experience and a contagious can-do attitude to the table as he shares with us his hopes for MMC Ports and how he plans to achieve them.
Last but not least, this third quarter saw the celebration of Merdeka Day as well as Malaysia Day. It is important that we reflect on the responsibility we take for our nation. In light of these special and meaningful occasions, let us take a moment to remind ourselves to take heed of our past, never take the present for granted and look to the future for inspiration. Let’s reorient our goals and unify our strengths in order to progress towards achieving a better performance for the Group and for us to further develop ourselves as Malaysians.
