On 9 August 2016, Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a Member of MMC Group, received the first visit from the Congo - Africa - South East Asia Chamber of Commerce.

The delegation of 8 senior officials was led by Mr Jean-Claude Masangu, the head of a major political party in Congo. A former central bank governor, Mr Jean-Claude Masangu is expected to play a major role in Congo government especially in trade and finance and economics. The Congolese visited PTP with ideas on developing a deep sea port in their own country, based on PTP’s experience and success.

The delegates were taken for a tour around PTP which covered the PTP Marine Control Centre at Level 7, PTP Free Zone District A and B, as well as the terminal area. Officers from the PTP Commercial and Corporate Communications team shared with them an overview of the port and its current developments.

This visit by the Africa - South East Asia Chamber of Commerce serves as an overture to a flourishing relationship with PTP.
