MAIN EDITOR'S NOTE IN BUSINESS CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY ENGAGEMENTS HIGHLIGHTS

On 6 August 2016, 150 hajj pilgrims were celebrated with a warm send-off ceremony held at the Departure Hall of Senai International Airport.


The event was attended by Johor State Secretary, YB Dato’ Haji Ismail bin Karim, Chief Minister of Johor’s wife, Datin Seri Rosni Omar, Chairman of Majlis Agama Johor, Datuk Noh Gadut, Mufti Johor, Dato’ Hj. M. Tahrir bin Dato’ Kiyai Hj. Samsudin, Director of Lembaga Tabung Haji Johor, Dato' Haji Mohammad @ Mokhzani bin Mukhtar, Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd’s (SATSSB) Chief Executive Officer, Encik Md Derick Basir and representatives from the Johor State Government.


The event started off with a ‘tazkirah’ by Majlis Agama Johor, continued by a prayer recital by Imam Besar Johor before the pilgrims were greeted individually by the VIPs prior boarding the aircraft.


This year’s hajj season saw 1,650 hajj pilgrims travelling from Senai International Airport using 11 Malaysia Airlines’ (MAS) special chartered Boeing 737 before transiting to MAS’ Airbus A380 in Kuala Lumpur to Jeddah. The departure flights were scheduled from 5 to 28 August 2016 and the arrivals in September 2016.
