Johor Port Berhad’s (JPB) Port Security & Safety Department had successfully organised a ‘Buckle-Up’ safety campaign on 30 August 2016. The event was officiated by JPB’s Chief Executive Officer, Encik Shahrull Allam Shah Abdul Halim at the Port Security & Safety Department.
Representatives from local authorities, resident contractors and tenants including BOMBA Malaysia, Xin Hwa Sdn Bhd and Felda Johor Bulkers also participated in this event. Road safety awareness and exhibition booths from local authorities such as BOMBA Malaysia and Traffic Unit, Royal Malaysia Police were also a part of this event.
Encik Shahrull Allam Shah Abdul Halim and representatives from Senior Management distributed ‘Buckle-Up’ safety pamphlets to port users at Check Point 1 after the launching ceremony.
The main objectives of the event were to instil awareness among employees and other port users on the need to comply with traffic regulations in the port areas. Subsequently, the safety guidelines regarding the usage of front and back seat belts in all vehicles as well as the chin strap for safety helmets worn by motorcyclists and cyclists must be enforced.
