Johor Port Berhad (JPB), a Member of MMC Group, organised a sports event called “JPB Sports Carnival 2016”. The Sports Carnival themed “Ola-Bola” was inspired by the glorious days of the national football team in 1980. The objectives of this event were to promote work-life balance, enhance community building and friendship among the management and staff.

More than 500 employees participated and competed against each other in the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship. Seven sporting events were contested during the tournament, namely bowling, badminton, football, netball, sepak takraw, carom and darts. The competition commenced with bowling, football and badminton on 14 July 2016 followed by the remaining games on 6 August 2016.

The event concluded with the emergence of the Johor Container Terminal department as the champion of the JPB Sports Carnival 2016 with most points collected throughout the all sporting events. The carnival ended with a colourful closing and prize-giving ceremony which was awarded by the Chief Executive Officer of JPB, Encik Shahrull Allam Shah Abdul Halim.
