JPB Receives U.S. Military Vessel  for Cargo Operations

On 14 July 2016, Johor Port Berhad (JPB), a Member of MMC Group, received a Break Bulk & Heavy Lift Shipment from the U.S. Army into Johor. The U.S. Army Special troops brought in their military equipment and weapons for a ‘Keris Strike’ Joint Military Exercise with the Malaysian Army in the vicinity of Combat Training Centre (PULADA) in Kluang and Ulu Tiram on 18 July 2016.

The unloading operations from 'MV Ocean Glory' carrying military equipment was witnessed by several government agencies including Polis Di Raja Malaysia, Royal Malaysian Customs Department, Immigration department of Malaysia, American Embassy as well as the Royal Malaysian Army troops. The U.S. Army brought in their military equipment, weapons, communications equipment and U.S. Military trucks  via the U.S. Military Chartered Ship (Ocean Glory).

JPB was awarded this contract by the U.S. Embassy and the U.S. Military Sealift Command following its position as a full fledge Multipurpose port and capabilities in handling all types of cargoes.  Some of the comprehensive services that were offered by JPB include marine services, manpower supplies and equipment for the discharge operations.
