On 8 October 2016, Chief Minister of Johor, YAB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khalid Nordin officiated the new Senai Airport City and Bukit Amber Diamond Interchange at KM10.95 (exit 254A) of the North-South Expressway in Senai.


The new interchange is open to the public and at the same time, it will enhance the connectivity by giving a direct access from Senai Airport City to North-South Expressway, leading to Malaysia-Singapore 2nd Link (Linkedua) and Johor Bahru City into Singapore. This new interchange can also provide better connection for the Port of Tanjung Pelepas and Johor Port via Senai-Desaru Expressway towards Pasir Gudang. Apart from that, motorist who used this new interchange will shorten their trip by 10 minutes between Senai Airport, Senai Airport City, Seelong and Kempas.


The event, hosted by Senai Airport City Sdn Bhd (SACSB), a Member of MMC Group and Amber Heights Sdn Bhd was attended by Datuk Ir. Haji Hasni Bin Haji Mohammad, State Executive Council for Public Works, Rural and Regional Development. YBhg Dato’ Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, Group Managing Director of MMC Corporation Berhad and Datuk Shaharuddin Md Som, Chairman of SACSB were also present during the event. Among other guests were government officials, representatives from local councils, contractors, consultants and other key major player from EcoWorld, AME, Hershey and Fuji Oil.
