MMC Pembetungan Langat Receives Working Visit From Tokyo Agencies

MMC Pembetungan Langat Sdn Bhd (MMC Pembetungan Langat) received an official visit from senior management team of Tokyo Sewerage Service Corporation (TSG) and Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Sewerage Bureau (TMG). The objective of the visit was for TGS and TMG senior management team to observe the performance of the ‘Rock Cutter’ machine - one of the utilised Japanese-tech Tunnel Boring Machine, in the development of Langat Centralised Sewerage Treatment Plant (CSTP) project.


Major Zulkarnain Yaakub, MMC Langat Deputy Project Director, conducted a project briefing on the Langat CSTP for the delegation. The briefing was followed with a visit to the network site at Jalan Taming 2A Desa Baiduri, for a first-hand observation of the Rock Cutter machine performance. In the afternoon, Encik Azhar Kasa, MMC Langat Project Director, led the delegation for a visit to the CSTP site, the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition room, the Bioreactor Tank and the CSTP lab.


The visit received positive feedback from the delegation and successfully strengthened the working rapport among MMC Langat, TSG and TMG. The Langat Sewerage Project is one of the Greater Kuala Lumpur anchored projects under the Ministry of Energy, Technology and Water with Jabatan Perkhidmatan Pembetungan. Upon completion, the project will be accommodating an inflow of 920,000 populations equivalent (PE), with catchment area of 60.9sqkm stretching from Cheras Batu 11 to Kajang.
