Johor Port Berhad Participate in Johor Port Week 2018

Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), together with  Johor Port Berhad (JPB), members of MMC Group (MMC) participated in Johor Port Week 2018 held at Double Tree (Hilton)Hotel, Johor Bahru.


The program, organised by Lembaga Pelabuhan Johor (LPJ), kicked off on 27 October 2018 with Ports of Johor Treasure Hunt activity that started from PTP and ended at Plaza Angsana, Johor Bahru. A total of 44 teams from various port communities in Johor participated in the activity in which 7 teams represented PTP and another 8 teams represented JPB. During the flag off ceremony, PTP Chief Executive Officer, Marco Neelsen and JPB Chief Executive Officer, Shahrull Allam Shah Abdul Halim had the honour to officiate the treasure hunt activity, together with Johor Port Authority General Manager, Muhammad Razif Ahmad and Johor Port Authority Assistant General Manager (Corporate Services & Development Division), Ahmad Salhin Bin Mustapa.


The official launching ceremony, held on 29 October 2018 at Double Tree (Hilton) Hotel, Johor Bahru was officiated by Transport Ministry Deputy Secretary-General (Management) Datuk Jana Santhiran Muniayan, together with Chairman of Johor Port Authority, Dato' Abdul Rahim Bin Ramli and Johor Port Authority General Manager, Muhammad Razif Ahmad. Also attended the launching ceremony was PTP Chief Executive Officer, Marco Neelsen, JPB Chief Executive Officer and Shahrull Allam Shah Abdul Halim as well as several senior management personnel from both PTP and JPB.


Various activities were organised throughout Johor Port Week 2018 including a 2 two days conference on ports and logistics 2025, Executive Talk, B2G Dialogue Session, exhibition and many more. During the second day of the conference, PTP Chief Executive Officer, Marco Neelsen was also featured as one of the conference speakers discussing a topic entitled “ South Asia Perspective: Industry Transformation In Maritime Sector”. On 31 October, during the Johor Halal Logistics 1.0 conference, JPB Chief Executive Officer, Shahrull Allam Shah Abdul Halim took the centre stage by delivering a presentation on topic entitled “ Risk Management in Halal Value Chain : Asses, Control & Communicate”.


A port tour to PTP and JPB was also organised where around 40 port users participated in Johor Port Week 2018 were brought to the ports to experience the port environment. A total of more than 1000 attendees participated in the events organised throughout the week.


Johor Port Week 2018 aims to promote Johor ports’ development and supply chain initiatives as well as projecting the potential and opportunities in the Johor maritime industry. The participation of PTP and JPB at the event was part of the on-going respective companies’ stakeholders’ engagement initiative to strengthen relationship between the companies and its relevant business partners including the customers, port community and government entities.
