Johor Port Funds School Supplies for

Over 100 Underpriveleged Students

Johor Port Berhad (Johor Port), a member of MMC Group, organised the 'Jom Ke Sekolah 2019' programme at Johor Port Training Hall as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The programme aimed at lightening the financial burden of low-income households by providing brand new school supplies for their children in preparation for the new academic year in 2019.


Over 100 underprivileged students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Pasir Putih, Pasir Gudang; Persatuan Kebajikan Al-Zarafee Negeri Johor; and children of Johor Port staff have received financial aid and brand-new school supplies which include school bags, stationeries and pencil cases.


The handover ceremony of ‘Jom Ke Sekolah 2019’ programme was led by En Shahrull Allam Shah Abdul Halim, Chief Executive Officer of Johor Port and officiated by YB Hassan Abdul Karim, Member of Parliament for Pasir Gudang.


En Shahrull Allam Shah said during the event, “Johor Port intends to instill the importance of education in children. Sufficient provision of school items is essential for students to perform well academically and we hope that our commitment towards providing school necessities to these students shows them and their parents that education is to be taken seriously and pursued diligently for a brighter future.”


The ‘Jom Ke Sekolah 2019’ programme is part of Johor Port’s is a part of its CSR commitment to enhance the social and economic well-being of communities and the company will continue its community development initiatives to drive the growth of surrounding communities.
