On 16 and 17 August 2016, Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a Member of MMC Group, emerged as the overall champion at the 18th “Pertandingan Kawad Kecekapan Peringkat Kebangsaan” under the category of Bomba Agency (Invitation) held at the Fire and Rescue Academy of Malaysia, Wakaf Tapai, Terengganu.

At this annual competition organised by the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia, Northport's firemen excelled in all categories namely 1,000 feet Hurdle Operations as champion, a clean sweep in the Fireman Lift category by winning all top three medals and secured first and third place in the 200 feet Hose Laying category.

5 Fire & Rescue Agencies from all over Malaysia participated in this year's competition including Fire & Rescue teams from Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, Malaysian Army, Malaysian Civil Defense Force, CEFS Response Petronas Terengganu and Northport (Malaysia) Berhad.
