Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP), a Member of MMC Group brought cheers to underprivileged students in Gelang Patah area by contributing school essentials to them during the company’s Back-to-School Programme 2018 held at Gelang Patah Community Hall.


This year, a total of 170 primary and secondary underprivileged students were chosen to receive the school aid consisting of stationeries, school bags, dictionary, colouring utensils and many more.


The event was attended by Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP while the presentation ceremony of the school supplies to students was officiated by YBhg Tuan Haji Mohammad Khairi A. Malik, UMNO Chief Gelang Patah division. Also present during the event were Tuan Haji Shaharuddin Saari, Johor Bahru Education Officer, several PTP Management team members, school principals, teachers and parents of the students involved in the programme.


The Back-To-School Programme is part of PTP’s community-based CSR programme for 2018. The program is aimed at alleviating the parents’ burden by providing brand new school essentials for the new school academic year as well as to bring cheer to the selected students.


PTP has been implementing Back-to-School programme for more than 11 years with the support of many local parties such as the Johor Bahru Education Officer and UMNO to deliver assistance and ease the burden of the needy, especially those within Gelang Patah areas.
