Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, unveiled new fleet of Pink Prime Movers and launched PTP Female Employee Referral Programme in conjunction with the celebration of International Women’s Day 2021.
The ceremony was officiated by YB Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development. Also attended the event were Zaiton Ismail, Johor State EXCO of Women Development, Family and Community, YB Senator Ir Md Nasir Hashim, Member of Parliament, Marco Neelsen, Chief Executive Officer of PTP and other federal and state government officials.
The unveiling of PTP’s new fleet of pink prime movers represents PTP’s icon to champion female recruitment initiatives as well as the progress and excellence that its female workforce has contributed to the growth and sustainability of PTP over the years.
As for the launching of PTP Female Employee Referral Programme, the aim is to entice more female talents in Malaysia to join PTP workforce. Under the scheme, a special monetary incentive is offered to PTP employees who introduce potential female candidate to the company as well as its subsidiary, Manpower Excellence Sdn Bhd resulting in a successful placement of the applicant.
During the event, a special video tribute to all PTP female workforce was also exclusively premiered in front of the Minister and distinguished guests to commemorate the day. The video featured PTP female talents across divisions, from the first female Rubber-Tyred Gantry operator to the first female marine harbour pilot in Malaysia.
International Women’s Day is celebrated on the 8 March every year, with this year’s theme being #ChooseToChallenge. It is a day to spread awareness regarding women's rights and gender equality and to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.
