Malakoff Corporation Berhad (Malakoff), a member of MMC Group, collaborated with the State Executive Council of Johor to launch the ‘Back to School’ programme as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), education programme with 27 primary schools in Kukup and Pekan Nanas, Johor. The event was officiated by YB Tuan Haji Mazlan bin Bujang, the State EXCO of Education, Information, Heritage and Culture. Others present during the event were Jasni Bin Omar, District of Pontian Education Director and Kopli Yunus, Manager of Tanjung Bin Power Plant.

The programme was aimed at providing the necessities such as school bags, stationeries and school uniforms to 789 primary school students. It also serves as a morale boost for the students to elevate their academic performance as well as reducing the burden of their parents by ensuring that the supplies needed are sufficient.

The Malakoff CSR education programme has further elevated the company’s image through community engagement programmes, particularly in areas where it operates. It also provides an opportunity for the employees to engage with the local communities. This demonstrates Malakoff’s commitment to build strong relationship with its key stakeholders both internal and external as well as contribute to their socio-economic development through education.
