PTP and Johor Port Authority Continue Providing Support to Local Community with the Launch of Food Shelves Programme

Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, collaborated with Johor Port Authority (JPA) and successfully organised a Food Shelves Programme for the community of Mukim Tanjung Kupang and Mukim Pulai Jelutong in Gelang Patah, Johor.

The Food Shelves Programme intends to provide necessities particularly to unfortunate individuals and families within the local community who are still struggling to overcome hardship caused by the pandemic.

For this programme, the organising committee consists of volunteers from PTP and JPA have initiated a donation drive amongst their employees and successfully raised a total of RM18,000.00 during the 12 days campaign which was started on 1 November 2021. The collected fund was used to purchase dry food items such as rice, cooking oil, canned foods, biscuits, as well as hygienic kits including toothbrushes, toothpaste, face masks, bath soaps, and many more. The items were then placed on the food shelves at four different locations namely Kompleks Mukim Tanjung Kupang, Masjid Desa Paya Mengkuang, Kompleks Pulai Jelutong and Surau At-Taqwa Gelang Patah. The food shelves will be replenished on every fortnightly basis and continue to remain at the locations until year end.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect people’s lives, PTP remains committed in giving back to the community. The strong support and the sense of camaraderie amongst the employees in donating to Malaysians in need reflect PTP’s caring, generous and kind-hearted employees.
