Double Win for Our Group at The Edge Billion Ringgit Club 2021 Awards Ceremony
MMC Corporation Berhad (MMC) and Gas Malaysia Berhad (Gas Malaysia) received prestigious awards at The Edge Billion Ringgit Club 2021 awards ceremony gala dinner held at Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.
MMC was awarded with the Highest Growth After Tax Over Three Years under Transportation and Logistics Sector while Gas Malaysia was awarded with the Highest Return on Equity Over Three Years under Utilities Sector. The awards ceremony was graced by YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Finance accompanied by Tan Sri Tong Kooi Ong, Chairman of The Edge Media Group. On stage representing the companies to receive the awards were Badrulhisyam Fauzi, Group Chief Financial Officer of MMC and Mohd Nisharuddin Mohd Noor, Director of Technical and Operations of Gas Malaysia.
YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul, in his keynote address said, “The government recognises that big corporates have been diligently paying taxes, investing or reinvesting and contributing to Malaysia’s economic development, on top of hiring, training, nurturing and keeping Malaysia’s talent.”
The Edge Billion Ringgit Club awards promote excellence and high-performance culture in companies with a market capitalisation of above RM1 billion. In its 12th installment this year, the awards honouring Corporate Malaysia's best-performing and top responsible organisations aim to spur Malaysian companies to be even better at what they do — not just financially but also as a corporate citizen.
