Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (Northport), a member of MMC Group, welcomed SITC Container Lines’ new service known as CMM Service. The new service was launched in early December 2021, linking ports in three countries namely China, Malaysia and Myanmar.

The rotation of CMM Service includes the ports of Shekou (China), Nansha (China), Port Klang - Northport (Malaysia) and Yangon (Myanmar). The CMM Service is operated by three container vessels with a capacity of 800 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent unit).

Present to witness the maiden call of SITC CMM Services at Northport were Dato’ Azman Shah Mohd Yusof, Chief Executive Officer of Northport and Michael Zhang, Managing Director of SITC Lines (M) Sdn Bhd.

This new service will provide Northport with additional trade lanes, connecting the port to the rotation countries, with more efficient and faster route service. It will also give Northport a boost to further increase its container handling throughput.

The new service call at Northport signifies the trust among shipping lines of Northport’s capability in providing the highest quality of service to its customers through reliable and sustainable port productivity, which further strengthens Northport’s position as Malaysia’s preferred gateway port.
