NEXT NEWS Senai International Airport Conducts Tabletop  Exercise for Airport Emergency

Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn Bhd (Senai International Airport), a member of MMC Group, has organised a Tabletop Exercise for Airport Emergency at the Senai Business Aviation Terminal.


The objectives of this exercise were to ensure the readiness of various personnel in response towards any emergency occurrence at the airport and effective coordination between the airport operator, airlines and related agencies while handling such emergency.


The simulation was led by Datuk Dr Alzamani Mohammad Idrose, Emergency Medical Specialist Consultant together with a team from Emergency Department of Hospital Kuala Lumpur. The participants were given a briefing on various scenarios of airport disasters using a large-scale airport map simulation to describe on actions required from several agencies in response to the disaster scenarios.


The Airport Emergency Plan Exercise is mandatory to be carried out biennially in accordance with the requirements set by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) and the International Civil Aviation Organisation. The full-scale exercise is scheduled to be held in the second quarter of 2022.  


This tabletop exercise has involved more than 60 personnel from various agencies including representatives from the National Security Council, Royal Malaysia Police, Johor Chief Government Security Office, Kulai Fire and Rescue Department, CAAM, Kulai Health Department, Royal Customs Department, Immigration Department, Hospital Sultanah Aminah, Hospital Kulai, the airlines and Senai International Airport’s employees.
