Port of Tanjung Pelepas Drives Digital Transformation Through ERP Go-Live Despite COVID-19 Restriction  

Pelabuhan Tanjung Pelepas Sdn Bhd (PTP), a member of MMC Group, announced the successful first phase of Go-Live for the integrated Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) to transform and streamline the company’s core back-end operations such as finance, enterprise asset management, inventory, human resources and procurement.

The first phase of ERP system implementation allows all PTP employees to access the Human Capital Management modules including the Employee Self-Service portal which can be accessed through web browser and mobile application that comes in both iOS and Android versions.

This is also part of PTP’s continuous effort in empowering its digital strategy and enhancing its operational and support functions efficiency to supplement the port’s growing customer demand and requirements of the industry.

Despite the current COVID-19 pandemic and the Conditional Movement Control Order enforced by the Government, the project execution went ahead succesfully via a remote ERP Go-Live and after support. Almost the entire project team was off-site and worked from home, to make this Go-Live happen. This is truly a testament of PTP’s commitment and flexibility in adopting new business solutions, focusing on system automation and process efficiency, thereby enabling PTP to further boost customer’s satisfaction and happiness.

PTP in its quest to remain competitive has been undertaking some progressive development work. The development covers operations facilities, support facilities and infrastructure as well as system upgrade. These are in line with PTP’s aspiration to become an advanced preferred port in the region.
